Welcome to Your Transit System

RTD 董事会
RTD is governed by a 15-member, publicly elected 董事会. Each member represents the voters, 居民, 和 transit riders of a specific area within the eight-county RTD service area. Board members actively support 和 advocate for constituents’ concerns, while providing governance 和 establishing policies for the agency.
CEO 和 General Manager
黛布拉一. 约翰逊 was selected as CEO 和 General Manager of RTD by the agency’s 董事会 on August 25, 2020. She carries top responsibility for RTD’s budget, capital projects 和 service delivery, 包括公共汽车, light 铁路 和 commuter 铁路 options across the Denver metro region.
约翰逊 is the first woman to lead the agency in its half-century history, 和 she believes that human connection is at the heart of good business. Being effectively engaged with employees 和 customers, 她知道, helps meet their expectations 和 allows for a transit agency to be a mobility provider of choice.

的 Regional Transportation District was created in 1969 by the 47th session of the Colorado General Assembly. Efforts in these early years focused on regional transportation planning.
In 1973 voters approved a 0.5% sales tax initiative to finance a $1.56 billion multi-modal transit system. 此时此刻, RTD acquired privately owned bus companies, improved service frequencies, 和 exp和ed routes in numerous counties throughout the metro area. By 1976, ridership grew to 35.2 million rides annually.

RTD celebrated its first light 铁路 opening October 7, 1994. 5.3-mile D Line attracted hundreds of thous和s of riders when it began operations with just eleven light 铁路 vehicles. 4月22日, 2016 marked another monumental milestone in Denver transit history with the opening of the metro area's first high-speed commuter 铁路 line - the 一条线. Twelve 铁路 lines service 78 stations along the Denver's North, 东, 东南, 西南, 和 West 铁路 corridors.
FASTRACKS: THE EXPANSION OF RTD
2004年11月, region voters approved 成功之路 transit tax for region-wide expansion of transit service. 的 .04% sales tax (four cents on a $10 purchase) provides funds to build RTD’s 成功之路 program - 122 miles of new commuter 铁路 和 light 铁路, 18 miles of bus rapid transit, 和21,000 new parking spaces at 铁路 和 bus stations. 的 program consists of six new rapid transit corridors 和 three existing corridor extensions 和 to exp和 和 enhance service for easy, convenient bus/铁路 connections across the eight-county district.
